Just a day before training camp opens, Bob Beatty is already stirring the pot.

He acquired two nineteen year old forwards from the Lloydminster Bobcats in the AJHL.

Brody Eisbrenner and Brett McNevin come to La Ronge after their rookie seasons in the AJHL in return for Future Considerations.

Both former Calgary Northstars in the Alberta Midget AAA league, Eisbrenner notched five goals and added five assists last season while McNevin contributed 5 goals and 2 assists.  Both appeared in 42 games for the Bobcats.

Edit: McNevin only played in 34 games. See comment below.

McNevin and Eisbrenner will report to the team this weekend.  Coach Beatty expects them to add competition,  "We've got at least six spots to fill in the forward positions, but I think the trade for the two veteran forwards from Lloydminster will put a little pressure on those spots."

The two weren't exactly scoring dynamos in Midget AAA or their first Junior-A season, and it will be interesting to see what kind of role they fill with the Ice Wolves this season.

I had piece written up and  pretty much ready to go for today, but with everything that's been coming up, I'll hold on to it for tomorrow so check back in for more from the Ice Wolves Pre-Season!

McNevin only played 32 games last year not 42. A Separated shoulder in Ft Mac put him out for 6 weeks.

Thanks for the heads up. Someone else let me know that today as well and I hadn't gotten around to fixing it yet.

Apparently I had a minor mind meltdown when I was writing this because I looked at his stats page three or four times.
